Getting your first 100 e-commerce orders

The first hundred orders are a search for repeatable demand. Stay close to every click, question and return.

Define one compelling offer

Choose a hero product or narrow collection, one buyer and one buying reason. Make the product page answer material, dimensions, delivery, returns and trust questions without forcing a visitor to hunt.

Start with warm evidence

Show the offer to relevant contacts, communities and previous interviewees—without spamming them. Ask buyers why they chose it and non-buyers what stopped them. Their language should improve the page.

Pick a channel that matches intent

Use search for known problems, marketplaces for products people already browse, creators for demonstrated products and local partnerships where trust matters. Concentrate enough activity to learn why a channel works or fails.

Instrument the funnel

Track qualified visits, add-to-basket rate, checkout starts, conversion, acquisition cost, gross contribution and returns. Small samples are noisy, so pair numbers with recordings, messages and customer conversations.

Earn the next order

Dispatch accurately, communicate delays and make support human. Ask for a review at a sensible moment and give customers a reason to return. The first hundred orders should leave behind better pages, stronger operations and a clearer buyer.
